In 2001 Narberth Ambulance began operations, in partnership with Radnor Fire Company Ambulance, providing Advanced Life Support for the citizens and guests in Radnor Township. This tiered response system works exceptionally well consisting of a BLS ambulance provided by Radnor Fire Company Ambulance and the ALS provided by a single paramedic responder (Delaware County Medic 109) stationed at Bryn Mawr Hospital. This paramedic responds to calls in a 2001 Ford Expedition that carries a full compliment of ALS gear including cardiac and respiratory medications, CPAP and a LifePakŪ 12 Defibrillator/Monitor with 12-lead ECG. Paramedics assigned to Medic 109 average 10 years of paramedic experience and are under the direction of Narberth Ambulance Medical Director, Ben Usatch, MD. |
